Community Building – Colegio Calasanz Master Plan

This recreation building has a distinctive role within the Colegio Calasanz Master Plan. Its structural retrofit preserves and strengthens the floor slabs and beams, while introducing new foundations and columns to create a hybrid structure. An additional floor provides new administrative spaces.

Sustainability informs the entire building lifecycle: earth-based masonry, reinforcing steel made with recycled material, and reused plastic fibers in subfloors are combined with cross ventilation, double façades for solar protection, and roof air cavities for thermal insulation.

The building was reoriented toward the main sports area. A suspended façade appears pure white from the front, gradually revealing a concealed transition of colors as visitors move along its sides.
